VESI SOIL MODULE

  • Soil Sensor 

    • Senses the amount of moisture, pH, and temperature in the soil. We designed a unique algorithm for our sensor that will only water your plants when the moisture levels are low and when the soil temperature is low, in order to limit evaporation from the soil. Our sensor averages the intake values, in order to operate smoothly, without major fluctuations.

  • Radio transmitter 

    • connects soil sensor to solenoid through another  radio transmitter from on the solenoid​

  • Solar Panel

    • takes energy from the sun and ​ transfers it to the battery charger 

  • Battery Charger 

    • takes ​power from the solar panel and transfers it to the power booster

  • Power Booster 

    • ​takes power from the power booster and  increases the to put  in the battery that charges the Arduino.  This Arduino  charges the soil sensor and gives the soil sensor instructions on what to detect

VESI WATER VALVE

  1. Solenoid valve

    •  ​Opens and closes when the soil module tells it to

    • Powered by 12 V wall wart

  2. Radio Transmitter 

    • Connects the vesi water valve to the vesi soil module
